Everything good, everything magical happens between the months of June and August. – Jenny Han
With fall right around the corner, there’s nothing like soaking up the last bit of summer by being outside in the warm, sunny weather. From juicy, fresh-picked berries to fragrant fields of colorful wildflowers, the landscape of summer serves as the inspiration for Blake Hill’s jams.
Located in the beautiful countryside of Windsor, VT, Blake Hill is a third-generation English preservatory that makes a unique selection of sweet and savory jams. Creatively infused with honey, liquors, herbs, or spices, their delicious jams and marmalades are the perfect accompaniments to cheese, nut butters, and much more.
We couldn’t think of a better pick for our August 2019 Featured Jam than Blake Hill Wild Bergamot infused Raspberry Jam! Winner of a 2019 Good Food Award, this jam incorporates the flavor and fragrance of wild edible bergamot flowers foraged from the Vermont meadows. Also known as bee balm, bergamot flowers have a sharp and slightly minty flavor. The blooms were originally used by Native Americans for making a light floral and citrus tea, as well as providing many medicinal benefits. Blake Hill infuses this herbal flavor with fresh raspberries, creating a fruity and bright jam that tastes just like summer. We love it piled high on top of waffles with tart yogurt and our Toasted Coconut Almond Butter for a decadent weekend brunch treat.
We are honored to offer Blake Hill Wild Bergamot infused Raspberry Jam as our August 2019 Featured Jam. Available while supplies last á la carte and in recommended PB&J and AB&J pairings on our webshop.
