Located in the middle of vibrant, downtown Asheville, Rhubarb features fresh and local flavors of North Carolina in a warm, inviting restaurant. The inspiration behind Rhubarb came from owner and chef, John Fleer and his memories of eating meals with his family around the dinner table. It was these meaningful, shared moments that motivated Fleer to create a comfortable place where friends, families, and strangers can connect and eat a meal together.
The menus at both Rhubarb and The Rhu center around Fleer’s passion for local food and an authentic, farm-to-table dining experience. From local cheese plates to hearty, southern-style brunch, each meal highlights seasonal, local, and regional ingredients in a uniquely delicious way.
As Rhubarb’s companion cafe, bakery, and pantry, The Rhu is every coffee shop lover’s dream. With its intimate, cozy atmosphere and rustic-style interior, The Rhu is one of Asheville’s go-to places for a cup of coffee and a fresh-baked pastry. The cafe also serves breakfast and lunch, with a menu of classics ranging from eggs and grits to sandwiches and salads. Alongside the cafe and bakery, The Rhu features a pantry packed with local food products, housewares, and artisanal producers.
We’re proud to have our nut butter featured on their shelves alongside other local producers, as well as in their delicious baked goods, toasts, and sandwiches.
