Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. – Leonardo da Vinci
Located in the Bankers Hill neighborhood of San Diego, Thread + Seed’s beautifully appointed shelves feature a curated selection of small-batch and handmade goods. Form and function guide their offerings, which range from clean beauty sundries, ceramics, home decor, stationery, and pantry items. The minimalist aesthetic allows each piece the breathing room for its design and purpose to shine.
This simplicity was intentionally crafted by founder Melanie Michaud who opened Thread + Seed in 2017 as a balance to Graffiti Beach, her first boutique and South Park neighborhood staple. The latter reflects the more wild, rebellious sensibilities of her youth, highlighting an array of quirky, bohemian gifts. Yearning to share her more mature, “going back to basics” lifestyle, she made deliberate decisions regarding what would be offered at this new location and how it would be displayed. Everything is top quality, with a less-is-more philosophy: buy fewer, but higher quality goods.
The one constant between the stores is the emphasis on gifts. Not only are all items highly giftable, they also offer premade and make-your-own gift boxes, the aesthetic of which is a continuation of their focus on beauty and simplicity. We are honored that our handcrafted nut butters are among the carefully chosen items on their shelves and in their gift boxes.
