Everyone is more successful when people are paid a living wage. - Amy B. Lyman

We believe that food matters. It matters to our health, happiness, and well-being of our planet. Food should be delicious, nutritious, and good for all involved in producing it. That's why we source our ingredients from trusted partners, set industry-leading standards of sustainability, and are a Durham Living Wage Certified business. Durham Living Wage is a non-profit that sets an official living wage for Durham County. What is a living wage? It's the hourly wage necessary for someone to live in Durham and meet their basic needs without public or private assistance. The Durham Living Wage project does incredibly valuable work promoting the importance of paying a living wage and how it benefits individuals, businesses, and the local economy. For our business to be truly sustainable, we've opted to make our starting wage above even the official living wage and nearly double the federal minimum wage, which is set at the staggeringly low rate of $7.25. It’s our hope that more businesses will proactively pay a wage that respects the dignity of their team. By purchasing our products, you are supporting our mission of economic sustainability for our team members.
